FAQ
Acronis questions we are asked
- Why choose image backup over file backup?
- An image restores the whole machine — OS, applications and state — in one operation. File backup only returns data, leaving the rebuild to you.
- Can we restore to different hardware?
- Yes. Universal Restore injects the drivers needed to boot an image on dissimilar hardware or into a virtual machine.
- Is endpoint coverage worth it?
- Where staff hold working data locally, yes. Laptop loss and ransomware on endpoints are far more common than server failure.
- Who holds the encryption keys?
- You do. Backups are encrypted before leaving the device, and keys are documented in your own secret store — losing them means losing the restore.
