Cloud & Virtualization
Citrix Hypervisor
Xen-based hypervisor deployed mainly where virtual desktop and application delivery workloads sit alongside server virtualization.

Capabilities
What we implement
- Pool and shared storage design
- GPU passthrough for VDI workloads
- Live migration configuration
- Migration from legacy XenServer
Security
How it is hardened
- Isolated management network
- Role-based access control
- Patch and hotfix cadence
Architecture
Citrix Hypervisor pool architecture
A Xen-based pool sized for mixed server and virtual-desktop workloads, with management traffic separated from tenant networks.

02 · Compute pool

03 · Storage

FAQ
Citrix Hypervisor questions we are asked
- Is Citrix Hypervisor still a sensible choice?
- Mainly where Citrix virtual apps and desktops are already the delivery platform. For general server virtualization, VMware, Proxmox or Hyper-V are the more common answers.
- We are on legacy XenServer — what now?
- The upgrade path is assessed against hardware support and licensing, with a parallel pool and staged migration rather than an in-place jump on production.
- How is VDI sized differently?
- Desktops are IO and boot-storm sensitive. Sizing works from concurrent sessions, storage IOPS and GPU requirements rather than raw CPU counts.
